I think I have a few spirit animals, but one of them is definitely a lizard. When I am cold (which is often), nothing feels better than laying on a warm rock in the sun. In that one moment when the sun soaks through to my core everything is right in the world.
Free People Bralette Paired with Off the Shoulder Top
This look was inspired by the salt-washed and weathered walls of the San Cristobal Fort in Old San Juan. The layers of natural colors throughout these walls against the backdrop of raging ocean and green fields is a kind of beauty unique to this location. I know bralettes are currently all the rage, but I scored this one about six and a half years ago at a Free People in Chicago. I am still in love with the delicate lace of this halter. I love the endless and continuously evolving bralette options of the past couple of seasons, but I still have not come upon any with this thin neckline. I am grateful I purchased one in cream and blue all those years ago. Off the shoulder shirts are taking over this spring (this one was a thrift find a handful of years ago), and I agree that a clean neck, shoulder, and chest is sexy. However, sometimes you don’t want to deal with a strapless bra (yanking and pulling up your bra all day is not attractive) and some of us aren’t built in a way that running around braless is a comfortable option. Marrying the off the shoulder top with the halter bralette is the answer for holding up the girls while adding an interesting dimension to your upper body.
Shield and Triangle Drop Earring
These earrings were a vintage thrift score so many years ago. They are one of those lucky finds you plan on rocking throughout your entire life, no matter how many decades you walk the earth.
Button Front Denim Skirt Appropriate for the Casual Work Environment
I love a good mini as much as the next girl, but this button front denim skirt from Forever 21 is more appropriate for meetings with clients. I love the high waist and the length is conservative enough while still giving me a flattering hemline.
Blue Velvet Mod Booties
I picked up these blue velvet mod ankle booties from Topshop online. They are so unlike any other footwear I own and for me, they serve as three season booties (velvet in the summer works for me). I’ve been pairing them with skirts, denim shorts, ankle jeans, and flares.
