Closet Consulting

Think of the closet consult as the “analyze and edit” step. It’s a great place to start because it allows me to ask a lot of questions and get to know your preferences:

\

Are you looking for more work clothes?

\

More date night clothes?

\

Clothes to fit a transitioning body?

\

New ways to combine existing wardrobe items?

Ideally, your closet should only contain items that work for your body type and personal style, so we’ll go through each item in your closet and assess it for fit, purpose, and wearability. Then we’ll make a list of suggested purchases that will complete outfits, or fill out seasonal and special-occasion needs. And we’ll decide which garments are worth donating or selling.

The end result is an efficient, functional wardrobe that makes sense to you! Ready to set up a Closet Consult?

I have hired and worked with Rachel several times to help me organize my closet and create new looks from my existing wardrobe. She helped so much by going through my clothes with me, helping decide what to keep and what to get rid of, determining clothes that worked for my look but needed some type of alteration, and creating outfits with the clothes that I had but needed more options for getting more wear out of them. And, at the end, organizing my clothes in my closet in a more useful way for easy access and matching options. I will definitely continue to work with her as my needs change and fashion moves towards new looks and new styles. Rachel is so easy to work with, makes the process comfortable and keeps the project moving in an organized, enjoyable way. I appreciate her honesty and look forward to having her come to my home again for another closet clean-up! I have also hired Rachel for personal shopping and styling consulting in order to create different looks for weddings and black tie events. She helped select shoes and accessories to match an outfit or dress that I already had but has also shopped for me when looking for a shoe or certain piece of apparel to wear with something I already had but wasn’t sure what to wear with it or how to style it. Working with Rachel has given me confidence and helped me feel beautifully dressed with her expertise and special touch. She is so good at creating outfits with pieces that I would not have thought to put together and the style is amazing! I would not have ever expected to hire a stylist but now it is a small luxury that I enjoy when I want to look and feel my best!

I’m a middle-aged downtowner trying his best to persuade a lady into a date here and there. I knew my schitzo closet was probably not helping. So, Rachel came over and removed three garbage bags worth of fashion awkwardness (i.e. shirts with blinding sheen, a leather suit, old man ties). Then she and her perky assistant took the salvageable items and matched them up to create as many opportunities as possible. We took pictures of this complex webbing of ties with shirts with sweaters with pants with jackets… She also took careful notes on items we could purchase to fill in holes. Since then she’s accompanied me on three outings to shop for clothing. On our first outing the friends and family discount she gains at some places actually more than paid her fees. Pre-Vallozzi – I might utilize as little as 25% of the clothes I bought. Post-Vallozzi – I’m closer to 85% utilization of our purchases. So, I think her services are not only fun and informative, but also cost-effective. Pre-Vallozzi – maybe one date per month. Post-Vallozzi – Exhausted. I think that says it all.
